Claire Buhrfeind
Sedona, AZ
Saber Lariat Super Crew Sport 4X4
These images represent one of the best mornings of my life. It was a very very long shoot, by this point we had been shooting for at least a month, we were all tired, beaten, and worn out. I think our call time for shoot day was around 3:30am. For work thats a pretty rough start to the day, but after traveling through Sedona to get to our location it was still pitch dark. As we hiked to our location, probably 15 or so of us, we all turned off the headlamps and were walking under the moonlight. That’s about when I realized how special that morning was going to be. Anyway as the sun broke over the surrounding mountains everyone was in position and magic happened. : )

The versatile American climbing prodigy is seeking to cement her place at the top of her field. There were no rocks in the Dallas area where climbing star Claire Buhrfeind grew up, but since her first competition at age 10, the Texan has become a record-setting member of USA Climbing. Among her accolades are numerous national and world titles at youth level, second place at the senior world championships and four US Open National crowns. Claire has also completed outdoor climbs at the notoriously difficult 5.14 level. (from RedBull)
Tyler McCaul
Sedona, AZ
Hot Pepper Lariat Super Crew Sport FX4
This shoot was so eye opening for me. I was going to write tough, but it wasn’t all that tough. It was fun, exciting, epic and all that. You can see that from the images. What might not be shown perfectly is how scary what I was witnessing was. Tyler is one of the best mountain bikers on planet earth and what he did was insane. He made things look easy as pie, but deep down I knew how serious the consequences of what he was doing, but nothing phased him. Nothing. It was a true pleasure watching Tyler do his thing. And he’s darn good at it.

Riding for the Fox Family since 2003, Tyler McCaul is key piece to the success of the team. Growing up, Tyler and older brother Cam, were taught to always go fast as opposed to “looking flashy” while participating in local DH races. Tyler would always look for the best jumps to do whips on. One of Tyler’s favorite people to ride with is his brother Cam. His first memory of riding with Cam, was when he learned to ride without his training wheels. Trying to impress his brother and his friends, Tyler attempted a to cruise a U-Turn, but crashed. Although Cam and his friends laughed at Tyler, I’m sure they had all the respect in world for him. Good thing Tyler kept with it, as he has become a common name in the Freeride world. His latest 1st place finish at Crankworx Dual Speed and Style shows he is at the top of his game. Carson lives in Hawaii, where he can be seen surfing, paddle-boarding, paragliding and speed-flying, or working as a professional skydiver and helicopter pilot... unless he's pulling off some Hawaii 5-0 type adventure on the tropical coastline. His specialty is standing up off the couch and stepping onto wingsuit race podiums, as he recently did at the WWL event in China. (squirrel)
